Kali, an orphaned polar bear cub, arrived at the Alaska Zoo in March after being rescued when his mother was killed. Kali arrived at the zoo at about 18 pounds, and now weighs a healthy 33 pounds. He has flourished, gaining almost a pound a day and transitioned well from being bottle-fed to eating solid foods.
Kali’s stay at the Alaska Zoo is soon to end as staff prepare for his travel to his new home at Buffalo Zoo where he will have a new playmate, Luna.
